We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Industrial & Office Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall sanitization of our manufacturing facility. This role splits time between two distinct environments: executing heavy-duty cleaning protocols on the warehouse/production floor, and maintaining a pristine, professional appearance in the corporate offices, breakrooms, and common areas. The ideal candidate works well independently, understands basic industrial safety, and takes pride in creating a clean environment for both our floor staff and executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Production Floor Areas:
- Perform heavy-duty floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and safely operating industrial floor scrubbers or walk-behind buffers.
- Empty large industrial trash receptacles and tilt-trucks, safely hauling waste to outdoor dumpsters or compactors.
- Collect and break down bulk cardboard, operating a cardboard baler where applicable.
- Promptly clean up non-hazardous liquid spills, dust accumulation, and debris near machinery walkways to ensure a trip-free environment.
- Adhere strictly to plant safety guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) zones and high-visibility PPE requirements.
Corporate Office & Common Areas:
- Dust, wipe down, and sanitize office desks, conference room tables, countertops, and high-touch surfaces.
- Vacuum carpeted office spaces and sweep/mop tile entryways.
- Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Deep-clean and sanitize all facility restrooms daily; restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
- Maintain the employee breakrooms/cafeteria by wiping down appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, coffee pot), cleaning sinks, and sanitizing dining tables.
Inventory & General Upkeep:
- Monitor levels of cleaning supplies and chemical stock; notify management when reordering is necessary.
- Ensure the janitorial closets are kept organized, labeled, and compliant with safety codes.
- Report any structural maintenance issues, broken lighting, or plumbing leaks to the Facility Manager immediately.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of commercial cleaning or industrial janitorial experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Familiarity with the safe handling of commercial cleaning chemicals (OSHA Hazard Communication standards) is highly preferred.
- Experience operating motorized floor scrubbers/sweepers.
- Ability to read and understand chemical safety labels (SDS sheets), warning signs, and daily written checklists.
- Strong attention to detail, discipline, and safety awareness
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
